York will hold its annual New Year's Revolution, presented by Sprint, from 6 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. on Continental Square in York.

From 6 to 7:30 p.m., a children's countdown will be at Continental Square, which will include face painting, a musical performance by the York County Youth Development Center and inflatable rides.

Groove Jones will lead off the grand-finale celebration, beginning at 10:45 p.m.

The band will play through the dropping of the White Rose and fireworks display at midnight.

In addition to the performances, there will be food and hot beverages for sale for attendees.

Parking will be available for $5.75 per vehicle in the King and Philadelphia street garages.

Details: Instead of dropping something, the town raises a cigar at midnight. It does so to commemorate the borough's famous cigar factories. Fireworks are part of the celebration.
